Dr. Justin Yancey welcomes the opportunity to provide the highest level of care to patients—with a strong focus on compassion, communication and advanced healing. As a Memphis, Tennessee native, Dr. Yancey’s approach to renal care is informed by his desire to serve residents of his beloved hometown and the surrounding areas. He chose nephrology as a specialty in hopes of helping the most individuals possible manage chronic kidney disease, while improving long term health and quality of life.
Dr. Yancey graduated White Station High School in Memphis before earning a BS in Biological Sciences and a BA in Psychology from the University of Missouri Columbia. While attending Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health for Health Policy and Management, he worked with the Centers for Disease Control. He then went on to the nonprofit Georgia Lions Lighthouse Association where he served as a Clinical Coordinator directing clinics for uninsured patients throughout Georgia. Continuing his healthcare education, Dr. Yancey enrolled in Lincoln Memorial University’s DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee. After completing the program in 2015, he moved to Corinth, Mississippi to pursue an Internal Medicine Residency with Magnolia Regional Health Center. Upon graduating in 2018, Dr. Yancey moved back to Memphis to complete his Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
With family still living all throughout Memphis, Dr. Yancey’s roots in this area run very deep. When he’s not working, he enjoys traveling the world, watching movies, playing guitar and rooting for the Memphis Grizzlies and alma mater Mizzou Tigers. Having played rugby in graduate school, health and fitness are also very important and therefore enjoys working out in free time. He unwinds spending time with family, friends and his golden retriever, Charlie.
